We locate leaks on houses and small residential buildings in La Habra and the five places around it. Locating is the whole business rather than the cheap end of it: once the spot is known, the repair is ordinary plumbing at an ordinary price, and plenty of people do that part well.
The site publishes what the work costs because that is what this market is visibly trying to find out. Every rate on it is an industry range and says so; there is no local average printed anywhere, because no verified local figure exists and inventing one would be the fastest way to lose the only argument we have.
The free checks are on the pages too -- the meter test, the bill reading, the pool bucket test, and the fact that the gas utility will come out for nothing. Each of those costs us work. They are also the honest answer to the question this market is actually asking.

Read your meter before you ring
Everything off, then watch the low-flow indicator. Still turning means something is moving; completely still through two readings means it very probably is not. Either answer is worth having before anybody quotes you, and it costs nothing.
Tell us how far the meter is from the house
That single measurement sets the price more than anything else does, because it is the ground that has to be searched. A twenty-foot run and a two-hundred-foot run are not the same job and should not carry the same figure.
We isolate before we search
Shutting off sections tells us whether the loss is inside the building, in the service line, in the irrigation, or in the pool. That narrows a whole property to one system before any equipment comes out of the van.
You get the spot, in writing, with the evidence
A location marked on the ground, what was used to find it, and what we would expect the repair to involve. You are free to take that to anybody -- the finding is yours, and it is the thing you paid for.

Every one of them is about how the number is arrived at, because a total on its own cannot be checked and a method can.
What is your rate, and what is it priced against?
Both halves. A figure with no basis is not a quote. Detection sits at $150 to $400 across the industry and moves with the ground to be searched -- if a number is outside that, it should be explained rather than defended.
Did they ask how far my meter is from my house?
If a price arrives before that question does, it was not calculated. It is the single biggest variable in this trade and it takes one sentence to ask.
Is the repair quoted separately from the locating?
It should be. They are different jobs with different costs, and merging them hides which half you are paying for -- usually the half that is hardest to check.
Will you tell me if I do not have a leak?
The meter answers this before anybody arrives. A business willing to talk you through that on the phone is giving advice against its own immediate interest, which is the most useful signal you will get from any of us.
What is your C-36 number?
California licenses plumbing contractors under classification C-36 through the Contractors State License Board, and the register is public. Checking it takes a minute and it is the one line on any quote you can verify yourself.
